Al Maha and Arabsat Join Forces to Launch Damascus Media Gateway, Powering Arab Media Renaissance

In a significant step toward strengthening Arab cooperation in media and advanced satellite solutions, Al Maha for Artistic Production, the developer of the “Damascus Media Gateway” project, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Arab Satellite Communications Organization – Arabsat. This partnership aims to develop the “Damascus Media Gateway,” a pioneering initiative designed to enhance the status of Arab media regionally and globally.

The MoU outlines a strategic collaboration in satellite broadcasting and advanced video technology solutions, aligning with the project’s vision to position Damascus as a regional hub for media content production and distribution. The partnership seeks to support the media renaissance in Syria and the Arab world by providing an integrated media environment built on cutting-edge technologies and top-tier technical support standards.

During the signing ceremony, both parties emphasized the importance of combining their technical expertise to deliver exceptional broadcasting and distribution services from within the media city. Arabsat President & CEO Alhamedi Alanezi expressed strong support for the initiative, stating:

Mohamed Sami , CEO of Al Maha Artistic Production, affirmed that Arabsat selection as a strategic partner was based on its distinguished track record and extensive experience in broadcast distribution services across the Arab world. He added:

The “Damascus Media Gateway” is one of the most ambitious media projects in the region, aiming to attract major Arab and international media institutions. Spanning 2 million square meters in Damascus, the project includes over 50 production studios and a fully integrated media city, reaffirming Syria’s historical role as a cultural and media center in the Middle East.
