Arabsat and Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU, based in Tunisia), are deploying a unique ground breaking satellite-based content exchange for ASBU members and Arabsat customers throughout the entire MENA region, "Multimedia Exchange Network Over Satellite", MENOS, a new revolutionary broadband IP-based product Developed and commercialized by Newtec.
A joint project of Arabsat and ASBU
MENOS combines the satellite capability of Arabsat and the breadth of the ASBU network. Arabsat will provide satellite capacity via its Arabsat-5A (for Ku-band) and Arabsat-5C (for C-band) satellites. ASBU will perform the role of Access Network Provider, assuming all necessary network management responsibilities including network planning, operation, maintenance and support.
By default, MENOS supports 32 Virtual Networks and can support up to 1,000 SITs (Satellite Interactive Terminals)
