Arabsat endeavored to fulfill its commitment to its shareholders through capturing additional growth opportunities by signing multiple satellite contracts:
- - A joint satellite between Inmarsat and Hellas Sat (a subsidiary of Arabsat) and will be positioned at 39° East. The satellite will carry two missions; first, the S-band payload (designated ‘EuropaSat’) for Inmarsat, , second, a Ku-band transponders payload designated ‘Hellas Sat 3’ for Hella Sat, that will replace the existing Hellas Sat 2. The satellite will be manufactured by Thales Alenia Space.
- - A Joint satellite between King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and Hellas Sat (a subsidiary of Arabsat) and will be positioned at 39° East. Manufactured by Lockheed Martin USA, this satellite (SGS1) will meet the needs of (KACST) to serve telecommunications sector and broadband in and outside the kingdom.
- - Arabsat-6A positioned at Arabsat’s 30.5°East orbital position. Manufactured by Lockheed Martin USA this satellite will support Arabsat competitive position and sustain it as the first satellite operator in the MEA region for satellite capacities and State -of- the- art satellite services.
Arabsat is also engaged in ongoing discussion with multiple potential partners to launch a joint satellite to the 44.5°East orbital position.
