Jordan hosts Arabsat 123rd Board of Directors Meetings
The Board discusses the strategic investment plans for Arabsat

On 23rd of Oct 2008 Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat) held the 123rd session of its board of Directors meetings in Amman – kingdom of Jordan. The meetings was headed by the Saudi Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mr. Fareed Ben Youssif Khashogji and with the participation of board members representing nine Arab Countries in the current session, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Libya, Jordan, Sudan, Syria, and Mauritania.
“The most important issue in the agenda that was discussed in these meetings in addition to many other issues is the strategic investment plans of Arabsat ” said Eng. Khalid Balkheyour, President and Chief Executive Officer of Arabsat, adding that “The Board will issue a conclusive statement at the end of the meetings”.
Arabsat has successfully launched its Satellite Badr-6 from the French Guiana last July, as part of Arabsat plans to launch a satellite every year till 2011 to meet the growing demands for TV broadcasting and satellites communications services.

المجلس يناقش خطط الاستثمار الاستراتيجي لعرب سات

عقدت المؤسسة العربية للاتصالات الفضائية (عرب سات) بتاريخ 23/10/2008م وعلى مدار يوميين متتاليين اجتماعات مجلس إدارتها في دورته الثالثة والعشرون بعد المائة في عمان – المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية وذلك برئاسة الأستاذ / فريد بن يوسف خاشقجى وكيل وزارة الاتصالات وتقنية المعلومات السعودية، إضافة إلى مشاركة ممثلي تسع دول عربية هم أعضاء المجلس في دورته الحالية وهم: السعودية – الكويت – الإمارات - قطر – لبييا – الأردن - السودان – سوريا – موريتانيا.
وصرح المهندس / خالد بن أحمد بالخيور الرئيس التنفيذي للمؤسسة أنه من أهم أوراق العمل التي نوقشت خلال هذا الاجتماع هي خطط الاستثمار الاستراتيجي لعرب سات إضافة إلى العديد من الموضوعات الهامة وسيصدر المجلس بيانا ختاميا فور انتهاء الاجتماع.
الجدير بالذكر أن المؤسسة أطلقت بنجاح قمرها بدر-6 من جزيرة غويانا الفرنسية في يوليو الماضي، وذلك ضمن خطط المؤسسة لإطلاق قمر صناعي كل عام وحتى 2011 م تلبية لمتطلبات السوق المتنامية لخدمات البث التليفزيوني والاتصالات الفضائية.
