Arabsat-2B Progress Statement

Following the incident reported last week that affected the Arabsat-2B satellite, Arabsat is pleased to confirm to its customers that the manoeuvre for bringing the spacecraft back to its nominal 30.5° East orbital location has been successfully completed.

After a detailed review of all subsystems and functions, Arabsat Engineers confirmed that the satellite is running nominally. However, and as a result of the initial recovery procedure consequences, the satellite is currently still experiencing a temporary inclination that will be gradually corrected.

The Arabsat engineering team, together with the manufacturer experts, are thoroughly investigating the matters in order to eliminate this inclination as soon as possible without affecting the satellite’s health. Currently, it is forecasted that within the coming few weeks, the satellite will be stabilized at it 30.5° East orbital location. In the meantime, our entire staff is working around the clock to minimize the impact of this operation on commercial traffic.

 " إيضاح من عرب سات "

تعقيبا على الإيضاح الذي أصدرته المؤسسة العربية للاتصالات الفضائية ( عرب سات ) الأسبوع الماضي حول الخلل الفني الذي طرأ على قمرها 2 ب  .

يسر المؤسسة أن توضح لجميع عملائها أنه تم ولله الحمد بنجاح  إعادة القمر إلى موقعه المدارى الصحيح على 30.5 درجة شرقا، وأجريت على القمر فحوصات واختبارات روتينية دقيقة أثبتت جميعها أن القمر في حالة ممتازة ولم يكن للخلل أي تأثير على أنظمته الداخلية والتشغيلية ، وهو الآن يعمل بكامل طاقته دون الحاجة إلى أي من الاحتياطيات .

ونتيجة للاجرءات التي اتخذت لإعادة القمر إلى موقعه المدارى الصحيح ، فان القمر الآن في مدار مستقر ولكنه مائل قليلا وسيتم تصحيح هذا الميلان تدريجيا خلال الأسابيع القليلة القادمة . علما بأن تغطية القمر ومعظم الخدمات عليه غير متأثرة بهذا الميلان .

ويعمل حاليا فريق متكامل من مهندسي التشغيل والتحكم في عرب سات لتصحيح الميلان وتقليل تأثيره على الخدمات التي يقدمها هذا القمر   وضمان انسيابية الخدمة .

وبذلك تؤكد عرب سات أن فريق التشغيل لديها على أتم استعداد لتقديم كافة أوجه الدعم والمساندة لعملائنا الكرام ، كما أنها تسعى دائما وبكل حرص على تقديم أفضل الخدمات المتاحة لهم .
