The Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat) participates in the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) held in Amsterdam, Holland, 7-11 September 2007. This convention is considered as the biggest international gathering attended by a large number of satellite TV broadcasting officials to display the state-of-the-art technology in satellite telecommunications. Arabsat, in its oriental-type exhibition that reflects the Arab World in terms of design and shape, shall present its services and the latest top of the line technology in the satellite broadcasting being carried out though the new satellite generation of BADR satellites.

Engr. Khalid Balkhyour, Arabsat CEO, disclosed that Arabsat is now ready to launch the new generation of Badr 6 within the next few months. Arabsat has recently signed some contracts for manufacturing and launch of 5th generation state-of-the-art satellites costing US$500 Million for launch scheduled <<<<between between Q4-2009 and Q1-2010 Thus, Arabsat will have complete sovereignty on the region's skies since it is the sole entity equipped with a complete fleet that includes all TV satellite broadcasting and telecommunications services on all frequency bands in order to cope with all future expansions expected to take place in the Middle East region. |
