Dubai, March 06, 2007 -- In line with the persistent endeavors aiming at the enhancement of Arabsat's pioneer position in the field of satellite transmission and telecommunications services, the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat) presents, in premiere exclusivity to the Middle East, the very first commercial High-Definition TV service on its stand at the 13th Middle East Cable and satellite show (CABSAT2007) held at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) from 6-8 March 2007, with a notable regional and international presence to display the state-of-the-art in the satellite broadcasting technology.

Engineer Khaled Balkheyour, Arabsat President & CEO, indicated that, as part of its new customers-oriented revamped Sales & Marketing policy, Arabsat is dedicating significant commercial resources in order to ensure that it is actively participating all along the year to all major international and regional professional trade shows ad conferenes such as CABSAT-Dubai, Cairo-ICT, IBC for multimedia in Amsterdam, Holland, as well as the February satellite conventions in Washington, DC and the September satellite finance conference in France.

Now being ranked as the world's 9^th largest satellite operator, Arabsat is determined to amplify and accelerate the implementation of its long-term strategic plan essentially based on the regular expansion of its reach by growing its satellites fleet, expanding their coverage and opening new orbital positions. After the recent successful launch in November 2006 of its first 4^th generation satellite, BADR-4, the second --complementary-- bird of the series, BADR-6, is now scheduled to be launched no later than mid-2008 and Arabsat is already drafting the final touch to a new set of contracts for awarding the manufacturing and launching of its 5^th generation satellites in the very near future.

As a result, Eng. Balkheyour is highly confident that Arabsat will not only definitely maintain its position as the undisputed historical leader for the provision of satellite telecommunications in the region, but also considerably strengthen it as the only qualified organization in the Middle East with a fully integrated fleet of satellites operating on all frequency bands, ensuring "hot" in-orbit back-up, and capable of coping with all future market and technological developments expected to take place in the Middle East and North-Africa.

تعزيزا لمكانة  عرب سات الريادية في مجال البث الفضائي وخدمات الاتصالات الفضائية . عرضت المؤسسة العربية للاتصالات الفضائية - عرب سات  لأول مرة بالشرق الأوسط خدمة التليفزيون عالي الوضوح (HDTV.  (وذلك بجناحها بالمعرض الدولي الثالث عشر للكيبل والأقمار الصناعية والبث والاتصالات "كابسات 2007"  والذي يقام بمركز دبي الدولي للمؤتمرات والمعارض  بحضور دولي وإقليمي لعرض أخر ماتوصلت إليه تكنولوجيا البث الفضائى  ،

وصرح المهندس / خالد بن أحمد بالخيور الرئيس التنفيذي أن عرب سات تحرص على المشاركة والتواجد في المعارض الدولية المتخصصة إقليميا وعالميا  مثل " كابسات دبي " ومعرض القاهرة الدولي للاتصالات “ Cairo ICT “  ومعرضIBC  الدولي للبث التليفزيوني الفضائي في مدينة أمستردام بهولندا ، ومؤتمرات الأقمار الصناعية في واشنطن وفرنسا .

الجدير بالذكر أن عرب سات قد حصلت على المركز التاسع من بين مشغلي الأقمار الصناعية عالميا ، علما أن المؤسسة ماضية قدما فى تنفيذ جميع خططها الإستراتيجية فى إمتلاك وتشغيل الأقمار الصناعية حيث أنه من المزمع إطلاق قمرها بدر 6 فى منتصف 2008 م وهى الآن فى المراحل النهائية لتوقيع عقود تصنع وإطلاق أقمار الجيل الخامس  .

وبذلك تحافظ عرب سات على ريادة المنطقة فى تقديم خدمات الاتصالات الفضائية المتكاملة ‘حيث أنها المؤسسة الوحيدة المؤهلة بأسطول أقمار كامل يشمل كافة الحزم الترددية لتأمين جميع التوسعات المستقبلية التي من المتوقع أن تشهدها منطقة الشرق الأوسط .
