Arianespace will launch Arabsat's BADR-6 satellite.

As part of its upcoming ambitious fleet renewal and expansion program for the next 3 years, Satcom operator Arabsat has selected Arianespace for the launch of its recently ordered BADR-6 satellite in 2008.
Khalid Balkheyour, President & CEO, and Jean-Yves Le Gall, Chief Executive Officer of Arianespace, have signed yesterday in Paris the according launch contracts.
This is the 10th contract signed by Arianespace with customers from the Middle East.
BADR-6 (technically, Arabsat-4AR) will be launched by an Ariane 5 during the first half of 2008, from the Guiana Space Center, Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.
With this new order, satellites operator Arabsat, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has now entrusted Arianespace with the launch of as much as six spacecrafts.
"Our partnership with Arianespace is not new, it dates back to five successful launches and we are proud to renew it with BADR-6 and hopefully many more successful launches" stated Eng. The BADR-6 Satellite
BADR-6, a fourth-generation satellite, will be built jointly by EADS-Astrium and AlcatelAleniaSpace for the communications payload, based on the Eurostar 2000+ platform. Weighing 3,400 kg at launch, the satellite will be fitted with 24 C-band and 20 Ku-band transponders with a design life of about 15 years. BADR-6 is designed to primarily provide video broadcasting services for the entire Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region from Arabsat's 26°East geostationary orbital location and by far the MENA region's leading video neighbourhood. Co-located with the rest of the BADR constellation of satellites at Arabsat's "hot-spot" for Direct-to-Home broadcast entertainment, it will be reaching an audience of 130 Million viewers from Morocco to the Gulf and a large part of sub-Saharan Africa. Moreover, BADR-6 will also provide Arabsat with additional in-orbit back-up capacity for its core television and radio customers, as well as a significantly larger number of options for optimizing its telephony and data transmissions.

عرب سات توقع في باريس عقد إطلاق القمر بدر 6 مع أريان سبيس الفرنسية

في ظل خططها الطموحة لتجديد اسطولها وكجزء من برنامج التوسعة الذي تقوم بتنفيذه على مدى السنوات الثلاث القادمة اختارت عرب سات أريان سبيس لإطلاق القمر الصناعي العربي بدر- 6 خلال عا 2008.
تم في باريس أمس التوقيع على عقد اطلاق القمر الصناعي بدر-6من قبل الرئيس التنفيذي لعرب سات المهندس / خالد بالخيور والرئيس التنفيذي لشركة ايريا سبيس السيد جان ايف لي جال.
وسيتم إطلاق بدر-6 (بواسطة الصاروخ أيريان 5 في منتصف عام 2008 من المركز الفضائي في كورو - جيانا الفرنسية.
وبإطلاق بدر-6 تكون عرب سات ومقرها الرياض في المملكة العربية السعودية تكون قد تعاقدت مع ايريان سبيس باطلاق ما يصل الى ستة أقمار صناعية.
وصرح الرئيس التنفيذي لعرب سات المهندس / خالد بن أحمد بالخيور قائلا "ان علاقتنا مع ايريان سبيس ليست حديثة العهد، بل انها تعود لخمسة اطلاقات ناجحة. اننا فخورون بتجديد هذه العلاقة باطلاق بدر-6 آملين أن يكون هناك المزيد من عمليات الاطلاق الناجحة." وأضاف المهندس بالخيور" لقد ترك النهج المبني على رضا العميل الذي تتبعه ايريان سبيس أثرا بالغا فينا علاوة على المستوى المهني العالي الذي اتبعوه خلال المفاوضات، وإننا نتطلع لنجاح حملة الاطلاق البالغة الأهمية بالنسبة لنا حيث أنها تأتي في إطار خطط التوسعة الشاملة التي سنقوم بها على مدار السنوات القليلة القادمة إن شاء الله ".
وقد صرح الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة ايريان سبيس السيد جان ايف لي جال "ان ايران سبيس تشعر بالغبطة والفخر لاختيارها ثانية من قبل عرب سات وهي المؤسسة الرائدة في تشغيل الأقمار الصناعية"، ثم أردف قائلا "لقد حافظنا على وجود علاقة مميزة مع عرب سات بدأت منذ اطلاق القمر الصناعي عربسات-1 ايه عام 1985. وعلاوة على ذلك فان التوقيت الذي تم فيه اختيارنا للقيام بمهمة الاطلاق الجديدة الذي يتصادف مع اعلان عرب سات عن خطتها الطموحة لهو اعتراف واضح بالخدمة العالية والجودة الممتازة التي تمتاز بها خدمات الاطلاق في ايريان سبيس" واختتم بالقول "اننا نعتبر هذا الحدث المميز علامة بارزة وهامة آملين أن نعمل على تعزيز هذا التعاون في المستقبل القريب".
القمر الصناعي بدر-6
سيتم بناء القمر الصناعي بدر-6 وهو من أقمار الجيل الرابع بالاشتراك مع EADS-Astrium والكاتيل ألينيا سبيس على منصة يوروستار 2000+. وسيبلغ وزنه عند الاطلاق 3.400 كغم وسيتم تجهيزه بـ 24 معيد على النطاق سي و 20 معيد على النطاق كيه يو وبعمر افتراضي مدته حوالي 15 سنة. وقد تم تصميم بدر-6 أساساً لتأمين خدمات البث التلفزيوني عبر منطقة تغطية تشمل منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا بأكملها، وسيتم وضع القمر عند درجة 26 شرقاً مع أقمار عربسات الأخرى. وسيصل البث الى حوالي 130 مشاهد من المغرب إلى الخليج، بالإضافة إلى جزء كبير من الصحراء الكبرى في قارة أفريقيا. علاوة على ذلك، من المزمع أن يتم استخدام القمر بدر-6 أساسا لتأمين خدمات البث التليفزيونى المباشر والتهاتف وتراسل المعلومات.
