ARABSAT General Assembly calls for Arab Ministers of Communications to meet in
Muscat, Oman.
ARABSAT holds its 29th General Assembly meeting in Muscat with the attendance of Arab Telecom Ministers.
Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The General Assembly of the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat) holds its 29th meeting on May 24, 2006 in Muscat. It gathers the ministers of telecommunications of its Arab member states. The meeting sessions will discuss the annual report of the Board of Directors, select new board members and approve the 2005 financial report, in addition to other important issues. The General Assembly meetings shall be preceded by the meeting of the Board of Directors of Arabsat on 21 and 22-May 2006 under the chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Mohammed S. Al-Shehri. The country members forming the Board of Directors in this session are Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Libya, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Oman, Sudan and Iraq.
H.E. Engineer Khalid A. Balkheyour, Arabsat CEO, reported that this session of the Board of Directors will discuss Arabsat annual plan, financial reports, and its strategic and future plans and many other important issues .
Balkheyour added that, this year, Arabsat will participate in the 8th Arab Telecommunications and Internet Forum (ATIF-2006) which coincides with the General Assembly meetings.

عرب سات تعقد جمعيتها العمومية التاسعة والعشرين
بحضور أصحاب المعالي وزراء الاتصالات العرب في مسقط – سلطنة عمان
وتنظم الملتقى العربي الثامن للاتصالات والانترنت

تعقد المؤسسة العربية للاتصالات الفضائية – عرب سات اجتماعات الجمعية العمومية الدورة التاسعة والعشرين يوم 24 مايو أيار بمسقط – سلطنة عمان ، وتتشكل الجمعية العمومية من أصحاب المعالي وزراء الاتصالات العرب وسيناقش في هذه الدورة تقرير مجلس الإدارة السنوي واختيار أعضاء مجلس الإدارة الجدد والمصادقة على الساب الختامي للعام 2005 م والعديد من المواضيع الهامة .
وسيسبق ذلك اجتماع لمجلس الإدارة يومي 21 – 22مايو أيار برئاسة سعادة الأستاذ / محمد بن سعد الشهري رئيس مجلس الإدارة ؛ ويتكون مجلس الإدارة في هذه الدورة من تسع دول هي : السعودية – الكويت – ليبيا – قطر – الإمارات – المغرب – عمان – السودان – العراق .
وصرح المهندس/ خالد بن احمد بالخيور الرئيس التنفيذي لعرب سات بأن اجتماع هذه الدورة لمجلس الإدارة سوف يناقش الخطة الإستراتيجية والخطة السنوية للمؤسسة ، والحساب الختامي وتقارير اللجان وعديد من الموضوعات .
وأضاف بالخيور أن عرب سات ستشارك هذا العام في تنظيم الملتقي العربي الثامن للاتصالات و للانترنت والذي يتزامن مع اجتماع الجمعية العمومية .
من الجدير بالذكر أنه يستفيد من خدمات منظومة أقمار عرب سات جميع محطات التليفزيون العربية العامة والخاصة. وتعتمد على خدمات عرب سات أيضا هيئات الاتصالات العربية والإقليمية العامة والخاصة والشركات والمؤسسات ومزودي خدمة الإنترنت والأفراد. وتتضمن هذه الخدمات مختلف أنواع الاتصالات مثل الربط الهاتفي والخدمات المحلية وخدمة الـ VSATوخدمة الإنترنت. وتعمل عرب سات باستمرار لتثبيت موقعها كأداة تواصل بين العرب وجسر تفاعل مع العالم .
