CAIRO ICT عـرب سات تشارك بمعرض القاهرة الدولي للاتصالات
وتحتفل ببدء التشغيل التجاري للقمر بدر 4 |

Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat) is participating in the Cairo ICT held at the exhibition grounds in Cairo, Egypt, on 04 - 07 February 2007 with a heavy regional and international presence of Arab and foreign key players to display the latest edge in the technology of information and telecommunications.
Mr. Khalid Balkhyour, Arabsat President & CEO, disclosed that Arabsat's participation in this convention comes following the successful launch and commercial operation of Badr-4, the first 4th generation satellite which will enable Arabsat provide high-definition TV transmission services due to the state-of-the-art technologies and large capacities of Badr-4. Arabsat, with contribution from the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), has developed and introduced this service into the Arab World. Coordination is being made also with some specialized firms in the field of receivers and cameras in order to provide integrated services as we are paving the road to introduce this technology inthe Arab World. We have gone a considerable distance in this regard in USA and Europe. I think that the time will come where we transfer to the high-definition TV phase as what happened when we moved from the black and white to the colored TV system.
In the framework of cooperation with ASBU, an agreement was concluded recently to implement multimedia network exchange via satellites (MENOS).
Moreover, Arabsat has signed, in an endeavor to enhance its regional presence, an agreement with Nilesat at its Headquarters in the free zone of 6 October City, Egypt, to establish an uplink for of its own. Another agreement was signed with ASBU in order to keep Arabsat as a means of communication between Arab countries and an interaction bridge with the rest of the world as it is the only qualified organization with a fully integrated fleet of satellites including all frequency bands to cope with all future expansions expected to take place in the Middle East.
It is worth mentioning that Arabsat is determined to go ahead and stick with all its strategic plans to own and operate satellites as Badr-6 is scheduled for take-off in mid 2008. Now, Arabsat is in the final stages towards signing the manufacturing contracts and launch of 5th generation satellites.

تشارك المؤسسة العربية للاتصالات الفضائية ( عرب سات ) في معرض القاهرة الدولي للاتصالات والذي يقام بأرض المعارض بالقاهرة بجمهورية مصر العربية خلال الفترة من 4 - 7 فبراير 2007 م بحضور دولي وإقليمي مكثف لمسئولين عرب وأجانب لعرض أخر ما توصلت إليه تكنولوجيا الاتصالات والمعلومات .
وصرح المهندس / خالد بن أحمد بالخيور الرئيس التنفيذي لعرب سات أن مشاركة عرب سات فى هذا المعرض تأتى بعد نجاح إطلاق باكورة أقمار جيلها الرابع بدر 4 وبدء تشغيله التجاري ، والذي ستتمكن عرب سات من خلال التقنيات الحديثة والسعات الفضائية الكبيرة المتوفرة على القمر بدر 4 من تقديم خدمات البث التليفزيوني عالي الوضوح (high-definition TV ) حيث بادرت عرب سات بالمساهمة مع إتحاد إذاعات الدول العربية (الإسبو) في البدء بتطوير هذه الخدمة في العالم العربي، كما يتم التنسيق مع بعض الشركات المتخصصة في مجالات: (الريسيفر، الكاميرات) وذلك لتقديم خدمات متكاملة في هذا المجال ، إذ أننا نمهد لإدخال هذه التقنية إلى العالم العربي حيث تم قطع مسافة ضخمة في هذا الصدد في أمريكا وأوربا وأعتقد أنه ستأتي مرحلة سيتم الانتقال فيها إلى مرحلة البث التلفزيوني العالي الوضوح مثلما تم الانتقال من قبل من نظام الأبيض والأسود إلى الألوان ، وفى إطار التعاون مع الأسبو تم مؤخرا توقيع إتفاقية لتنفيذ شبكة تبادل الوسائط المتعددة عبر الأقمار الصناعية (مينوس) .
وتعزيزا لتواجدها الاقليمى وقعت عرب سات إتفاقية مع الشركة المصرية للأقمار الصناعية – نايل سات لإنشاء وصلة صاعدة لعرب سات بمقر نايل سات فى المنطقة الحرة بمدينة السادس من أكتوبر بجمهورية مصر العربية ،
الجدير بالذكر أن عرب سات ماضية قدما فى تنفيذ جميع خططها الإستراتيجية فى إمتلاك وتشغيل الأقمار الصناعية حيث أنه من المزمع إطلاق قمرها بدر 6 فى منتصف 2008 م وهى الآن فى المراحل النهائية لتوقيع عقود تصنيع وإطلاق أقمار الجيل الخامس .
وبذلك تحافظ عرب سات على ريادة المنطقة فى تقديم خدمات الاتصالات الفضائية المتكاملة ‘حيث أنها المؤسسة الوحيدة المؤهلة بأسطول أقمار كامل يشمل كافة الحزم الترددية لتأمين جميع التوسعات المستقبلية التي من المتوقع أن تشهدها منطقة الشرق الأوسط .
